In May 2025, the Girls Who Mean Business Club officially launched at the University of Ibadan — and it did so with a bang. A total of 194 bold, brilliant, and business-minded young women were inducted into what has now become one of the most impactful student-led movements on campus.
What Happened at the Induction?
This wasn’t just another gathering — it was a defining moment for the future of women on campus. Here’s what went down:

Induction of New Members: 194 students officially joined the club, becoming part of a powerful network of future leaders and change-makers.

Orientation About the Club: Members were introduced to the vision, values, and programs of the club — from career clarity to mentorship and opportunity access.

Announcement of Leaders: The leadership team for the UI chapter was officially unveiled, laying the foundation for structure, accountability, and execution.

Commissioning of the Cliques: Members were grouped into smaller accountability circles (cliques), setting the stage for bonding, goal-setting, and support throughout the semester.
Rhoda Aguonigho Lit Up the Room
The only keynote speaker of the day, Rhoda Aguonigho, delivered an electric, soul-stirring session as she shared her real-life journey of becoming. Her message? It’s okay to start where you are — just don’t stay there. It was a masterclass in resilience, purpose, and vision.

Those were the words of Seunfunmi Bolarinwa, National President of University Chapters, who passionately charged the new members to take ownership of their growth.
“It’s one thing to be inducted. It’s another thing to show up, grow up, and rise. The Girls Who Mean Business Club has come to stay in UI — now, make it count.”
